Recently, we had occasion to test a product in this category from an industry leader - Island Sky, a company in Australia, Florida and beyond, with an emerging global footprint.
The unit we evaluated is the Skywater Harmony. By extracting water from indoor air having a relative humidity between 30% and 50% at room temperature, the device produces 5-10 gallons of filtered alkaline-ionized drinking water each day.
The test unit is located in a manufactured home in Gibsonton FL, and the tester, in addition to providing positive reports about the machine, believes the alkaline water produces health benefits. In the air conditioned environment of the mobile home, the unit produces several gallons of fresh water per day, plenty of water for the evaluator's needs, and the water tastes "quite good." Monthly electrical costs are elevated somewhat, but worth it, according to the tester. All in all, a useful home appliance that makes water from the air - quite a remarkable achievement.
