"We have heard it said that the VOCs found in the indoor air are not in high enough concentrations to affect human health. Twenty years ago we might have agreed, but today, we feel that VOCs are an unnecessary component of indoor air and levels should be reduced whenever possible. Over the next few years there will no doubt be many specific compounds that scientists will prove to be benign, but at the same time, some are going to be found to be worse than we could have imagined. The research required to differentiate the good VOCs from the bad ones could cost billions of dollars and take decades. We suggest that it is much easier, and cheaper, for you to reduce all VOCs to a minimum wherever possible. "
