Nutech's whole house air cleaner, the Lifebreath Turbulent Flow Precipitator (TFP), provides consistent airflow and performance to improve and maintain indoor air quality, removing almost 100% of particles such as pollen, fungus spores, dust, animal dander and dirt; 90% of tobacco and wood smoke particles and some bacteria; and a large proportion of particles as small as 0.1 (one tenth of a) micron. The process is called Turbulent Flow Precipitation - TFP.
Scientific Basis of TFP
When particle-laden air is forced through a narrow airway, the particles are repeatedly flung against the internal walls. If the walls are smooth, the particles bounce off and re-enter the air stream.
Nutech harnessed this natural phenomenon to achieve a high rate of particle removal from air streams, and called it Turbulent Flow Precipitation - TFP.
In the Lifebreath air cleaner, the walls of the internal airway through which dirty air passes are made of a pleated fabric that traps particles as they are flung out of the airstream. The result is a high rate of removal of even the smallest particles, without conventional filters to obstruct the flow of air, plus a greatly reduced need for maintenance compared to other high efficiency filtration systems.
