EverFresh ™ Air Exchange System

Air Cleaner: EverFresh ™ Air Exchange System Review, Healthy Home & Green Living Product Reviews - HealthyHouseInstitute.com

AsteriskRating Disclaimer

Reviewing products, like reviewing movies or restaurants, is arguably a subjective process (even for well-funded consumer groups) based on the review criteria (what the reviewer considers important) and the unique perspective of the reviewer. Thus, when considering The Healthy House Institute's reviews, please do not use the numerical product ratings (e.g., "9.5 out of 10") for direct product comparison purposes since these represent the unique 'take' of each reviewer, and will often vary qualitatively and quantitatively from product to product.

Do rely on the text of the reviews for issues to consider when purchasing similar products, and do consider the scientific data supplied (for example, information from the Carpet and Rug Institute's Seal of Approval-related research) that will help you in your decision making process. We believe the "truth" about products can only be discovered by weighing, then averaging, a number of factors and credible viewpoints based on available resources and science, then making buying decisions based on what is important to you.

Increasing ventilation is one of three methods the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommends for improving indoor air quality (www.epa.gov/iaq/is-imprv.html).

Unlike air cleaning units that sit on the floor and process the air that is already indoors, the Bionaire EverFresh is a window-mounted air cleaner which boosts ventilation by bringing in fresh air from outside. The window unit mounts (mounting kit included) in double-hung windows from 26 to 38 inches wide. It measures approximately 24.5 inches long, 12 inches wide and only 9 inches high, so it does not obstruct most views.

Installation was without incident and we feel that most users could install the unit with ease. There are three settings on the unit that pull the air into your home. A heat balancing system senses the temperature of the air coming in and adjusts it to the same temperature as the air inside, so there are no conflicting temperatures — i.e., no chill from a cold or rainy day outside. During warmer months, the air is cooled by indoor air while the system helps remove humidity.

A service message informs users when the EverFresh needs to be cleaned or when other maintenance is necessary. The unit comes with a manufacturer's five-year limited warranty.

Overall, we feel that the EverFresh Air Exchange System is a “fresh” idea and one that would appeal to users looking for an alternative or additional air cleaner.
